I was attending Falkirk and District Association for Mental Health as a service user. Iyaah came along to do some training with the service users on being representative. I was very impressed with the training and wanted to know more about CTDU. I came along for a visit, and then I was hooked.
It was like a family and I also enjoyed the social aspect because I was lonely. I felt included very quickly, people listened to me and I listened to others. You feel you are contributing to something important.
I like the fact you get your lunch and travel expenses, which really helps when you’re on benefits.
When CTDU sends out a letter to you they use green envelopes. Getting your green envelope is important, because you know there will be something nice inside - it's a 'green letter day'!

Sometimes, when I wasn't well I would struggle to get to CTDU, but I know I would leave feeling better and happier. I like the fact that the things you take part in are recorded, not forgotten, it makes you feel valued, you see yourself in DVD’s and say “I did that” it’s great!
